This role requires an individual with excellent analytical skills to gather and analyze information, develop forecasts, and provide input to pricing and purchasing decisions. The demand planner will have a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of a reliable and accurate sales and operations planning process. The successful candidate will be able to identify trends and anticipate changes in the marketplace in order to create accurate forecasts. This position requires a certain level of expertise in order to ensure successful planning, delivery, and inventory oversight. Demand Planner Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze sales data to generate accurate demand forecasts
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to gather input for demand planning
  • Develop and maintain inventory targets to align with demand forecasts
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and software for demand forecasting
  • Adjust demand forecasts based on market trends and sales performance
  • Develop strategies for new product introductions and phase-outs
  • Maintain and improve demand planning processes and systems
  • Communicate demand plans and adjustments to relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct root cause analysis for any discrepancies in forecasts and actual sales
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on demand planning metrics
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align demand planning with business goals

Demand Planner Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience with demand planning software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in a similar role within the retail or manufacturing industry
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and data modeling
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of market trends and their impact on demand
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Previous experience in demand planning or a related field
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting techniques
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data and derive meaningful insights
  • Capability to adapt to changing circumstances and make informed decisions
  • Experience with ERP systems and demand planning software
