Job Summary

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing procurement support to the organization, ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with ECOWAS' policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide procurement support to the organization, including preparing and issuing procurement documents, conducting market research, and evaluating bids and proposals.
• Develop and implement procurement plans, including identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement budgets.
• Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with ECOWAS' policies and procedures, including the ECOWAS Procurement Manual.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that procurement activities are aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
• Provide training and capacity building to staff on procurement procedures and best practices.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a multinational organization.
• Strong knowledge of procurement policies and procedures, including the ECOWAS Procurement Manual.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
