The monitoring and evaluation (M&E) assistant will oversee the implementation of the project’s learning and assessment processes, ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting across all counties. This position will provide technical guidance and mentorship to the L&A Assistants and coordinate with field staff to support the project’s Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework. The M&E assistant will ensure that project data is accurate, reliable, and utilized to inform decision-making and reporting to stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall supervision and technical guidance to L&A Assistants across project locations to ensure effective data management and reporting.
- Develop and maintain L&A systems and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Oversee the quality assurance of all data entered into project databases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on project progress, outcomes, and impact to stakeholders, including donors and Medica Liberia management.
- Collaborate with the M&E team to design and implement frameworks for measuring project performance and impact.
- Train and mentor L&A Assistants and field staff on data collection, entry, validation, and reporting processes.
- Coordinate with county-based teams to facilitate timely data submission and resolve any data-related challenges.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor and evaluate L&A activities at the county level.
- Generate lessons learned and recommendations to improve the project’s L&A processes and overall performance.
- Ensure compliance with donor guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Support the development of presentations and materials for stakeholder engagement and project dissemination.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a monitoring and evaluation role, preferably within donor-funded projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and providing technical oversight.
- Strong expertise in data management tools and software
- Proven skills in lead report writing, data visualization, and presentation development.
- Familiarity with M&E frameworks and donor reporting requirements, including World Bank-funded projects.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and mentoring skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
