Job Description
A pediatric nurse is a registered nurse (RN) specializing in the care of patients from infancy through late adolescence, providing preventive care, acute illness treatment, and chronic condition management. Key duties include conducting physical assessments, administering medications and immunizations, tracking development milestones, and offering emotional support to families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Monitoring vital signs, performing diagnostic tests, administering medications/vaccines, and providing acute care in hospitals or clinics.
- Assessment & Treatment Planning: Evaluating child symptoms, interpreting tests, and working with specialists to create tailored treatment plans.
- Family Education: Educating parents on child wellness, developmental milestones, medications, and home care techniques.
- Support & Advocacy: Providing emotional support to patients and parents, ensuring a comfortable environment, and acting as a patient advocate.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse license (RN).
- Education in pediatric nursing (Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree).
- Relevant certifications, such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- Minimum 1 year Experience
