Pricing / Costing Analyst

Job Description

You are responsible for building accurate, competitive, and strategic cost models for every tender. You will: Translate sourcing, logistics, and operational inputs into clear pricing structures. Ensure every bid is commercially competitive and financially viable. Protect margins while maintaining a strong chance of winning. You are not just pricing — you are driving commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

• Costing & Pricing Development: Build detailed cost models for each tender, including: Product sourcing costs, Logistics and shipping costs, Duties, taxes, and delivery expenses, Operational and overhead costs.
• Commercial Strategy: Develop pricing that balances: Competitiveness, Profitability, Risk. Adjust pricing strategies based on: Market conditions, Client expectations, Tender evaluation criteria.
• Collaboration: Work closely with: Sourcing & Supplier Manager, Bid Strategy & Qualification Lead, Tender / Bid Specialist, Logistics & Delivery teams. Ensure all inputs are aligned and accurate.
• Financial Accuracy & Risk Control: Identify risks such as: Underpricing, Cost overruns, Currency fluctuations, Logistics uncertainties. Apply buffers and controls where required.
• Data & Systems: Maintain pricing models and data in: Excel / financial tools, CRM / project systems (Zoho / ClickUp / SharePoint). Track: Historical pricing, Win/loss data, Margin performance.

Performance Expectations

• Deliver accurate costings within tight deadlines.
• Maintain zero critical pricing errors.
• Ensure margin targets are met or exceeded.
• Contribute directly to: Higher win rates, Strong profitability, Sustainable growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience in: Pricing, costing, financial analysis, or commercial roles.
• Strong understanding of: Cost structures and pricing strategies. Procurement and supply chain cost components.
• Advanced skills in: Excel / financial modelling.
• Ability to: Analyse complex data quickly. Build accurate and structured cost models.
• Familiarity with: Tendering environments (UN, NGO, or government) is an advantage.
• Strong English communication skills.
