The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a state corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013 as the national body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya.

Research Interns – Migori County

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhering to good clinical practice within a research environment
  • Developing standard operating procedures related to research studies
  • Collecting data and managing study participants
  • Obtaining informed consent, maintaining confidentiality, and handling study data in accordance with ethical standards
  • Performing any additional duties assigned to support project operations

Vacancy Requirements

  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing and midwifery, Diploma in community health and development, Diploma in Nutrition, social work or related fields
  • One to five (1- 5) years of post-college graduation
  • Willing to live and work in Migori
  • Passionate about maternal and child health and community health
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills in research in human subjects
  • Should be willing to gain research skills while being mentored together with other interns in the project.
  • Nurses MUST have a valid practicing license and be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Be a Kenyan youth below 30 years of age.
  • Should have graduated and obtained the relevant final certificate.
  • Provide a Certificate of good conduct.
  • The Interns will be expected to take up a personal accident cover and medical Insurance cover.
