Job Summary

Founded in 1992, Elektrex is one of Uganda’s leading electrical suppliers and contractors. We globally source and import high-quality electrical goods — from cables and circuit breakers to solar systems and LED lighting — supplying commercial and industrial clients across the country. We are now looking for a driven Sales Representative to grow our client base and deepen relationships with existing customers.

You will be the face of Elektrex in the field, responsible for identifying business opportunities, presenting our product and installation service portfolio, and closing sales with commercial and industrial clients. You will work closely with our technical and procurement teams to deliver tailored electrical solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and develop new B2B client relationships across commercial and industrial sectors
  • Present and demonstrate the full Elektrex product range including cables, switchgear, LED lighting, solar systems, and power distribution equipment
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, and tender documents
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Maintain up-to-date records of leads, pipelines, and customer interactions in the CRM
  • Liaise with the technical team to scope electrical installation and solar projects
  • Attend trade events, site visits, and client meetings as required
  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activity and pricing trends

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in electrical, construction, or technical products
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong understanding of electrical products (wiring, switchgear, lighting, solar) — or willingness to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s permit and willingness to travel within Greater Kampala and upcountry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network within construction, manufacturing, hospitality, or NGO sectors in Uganda
  • Experience selling electrical or engineering products to contractors, consultants, or facility managers
  • Familiarity with tendering and procurement processes
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems and energy solutions
