Job Summary

  • Collaborate with Community Mobilizers to engage at least 500 community members annually in discussions on gender equality and GBV prevention. Organize monthly community meetings and bi-weekly awareness campaigns targeting different demographic groups.
  • Provide technical support to community mobilizers and other stakeholders on gender-transformative programming.
  • Identify and support the training for community activists, leadership groups, and institutional allies to champion gender-transformative change and facilitate dialogues, awareness sessions, and training workshops on gender norms and power dynamics.
  • Conduct regular refresher training sessions to reinforce learning and skills.
  • Advocate for sustainable community-driven solutions to gender inequality and violence against women.
  • Strengthen linkages between community interventions and existing support services for GBV survivors.
  • Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team to track the impact of SASA! Together interventions.
  • Collect and document best practices, lessons learned, and case studies for program learning.
  • Submit detailed monthly progress reports to the Project Manager, including data on program activities, success stories, challenges faced, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Represent medica Liberia at relevant workshops, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Perform any other duties the Project Manager assigns to ensure the project’s success.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field. A background in project management or a related discipline would be an asset.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gender programming, GBV prevention, or community mobilization, with a proven track record of successfully implementing projects focused on women’s empowerment and gender equality.
  • Experience in implementing social norms change methodologies, especially at the community level.
  • Strong facilitation and training skills, with experience in engaging in diverse community groups.
  • Familiarity with GBV referral pathways and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, CSOs, and community groups.
  • Excellent reporting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to remote project sites.
