SOFTWARE DEVLOPER – USSD

Job Description

Eaglepay is seeking services of a skilled developer design, develop, and maintain high-performance, reliable USSD applications and services, integrating them with core backend systems and third-party APIs to deliver seamless mobile experiences for our users.

Key Responsibilities

• USSD Application Development: Design, code, and implement new USSD services
• System Integration: Integrate USSD applications with various internal and external systems, including databases, payment gateways, and other third-party APIs (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
• Session Management & Workflow Design: Create conversational user interfaces and design natural dialogue flows/menu structures, managing session states effectively to ensure a user-friendly experience on feature phones.
• Testing and Deployment: Conduct unit testing, performance optimization, and debugging of USSD applications to ensure quality and stability
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Documentation and Support: Document technical specifications, coding procedures, and system maintenance guides. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to the USSD platform.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor service KPIs and platform health, performing regular checks to ensure operational efficiency and stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or software engineering

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in software development, with a strong background in backend technologies. Demonstrable experience in USSD application development and integration with mobile network operator (MNO) gateways. Experience with building and managing RESTful APIs and working with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, PHP, Python, C++).
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and data formats (XML, JSON).
• Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Telecom or Financial Services environment.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms
