Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and technically sound Technical Assistant Engineer to support plant operations, maintenance activities, and construction/building activities in Akwaibom. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring optimal equipment performance, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement of production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineering and maintenance teams on-site
  • Assist in monitoring plant equipment performance and troubleshooting faults
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency
  • Prepare technical reports, logs, and documentation for engineering activities
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
  • Assist in implementing engineering projects and upgrades
  • Monitor spare parts usage and support inventory planning

Requirements & Qualifications

  • B.Eng / HND in Mechanical, Building, Civil, or related Engineering field
  • 1–3 years experience in a technical/engineering role (cement or manufacturing industry is an advantage)
  • Basic knowledge of cement production processes and plant operations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced building and construction site.
