We are looking for additional capacity in Zambia to help us manage and develop our partnerships and to provide support for students on our further education sponsorship programme. Please see our website for more information on our current partnerships in Zambia: www.hatw.org.uk. We currently work with a Zambia projects coordinator based in Lusaka who manages our current partnerships. We would like to support this role with another person who would be ideally based in Monze, to further support projects there. Purpose of the role to support HATW to develop our current and new partnerships in and around Monze and support sponsored students in the area. Consultancy based role which is part-time & time limited. Payment will be made on a day rate plus reasonable agreed expenses.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate (minimum), with a diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g. Development Studies, Education, Social Work, Project Management or similar) considered an advantage.

Desired Candidate

  • Living close to Monze and able to travel around the area
  • Willing to travel.
  • Able to communicate well in written and spoken English.
  • Able to communicate confidently through Zoom, email, and WhatsApp.
  • Demonstrate experience of working with foreign donors.
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Have experience of working with vulnerable children.
  • Willing to undertake a police record check (if available in Zambia).
  • Able to work with others and as part of a team.

Key Duties

  • Attend 6 weekly zoom calls with the Zambia steering group.
  • Visiting HATW projects and working with project directors and other staff & volunteers.
  • Visiting partner organisations and monitoring projects.
  • Visiting sponsored students at place of training or university.
  • Writing project updates and sponsorship reports as required by HATW.
  • Asking consent, taking and sharing photographs of the projects and the children / students.
  • Providing capacity building support to partners
