Internal Auditor

Location:

Kigali, Rwanda

Reports to:

Director of Finance and Administration

Job Summary:

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for providing independent and objective assurance that the organization's risk management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively. The Internal Auditor will also provide recommendations for improvement and assist in the implementation of those recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits of financial and operational processes to ensure compliance with World Vision Rwanda's policies and procedures.
  • Identify and assess risks to the organization and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Conduct investigations into allegations of misconduct or irregularities.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on internal control and risk management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Develop and maintain a risk management framework that aligns with World Vision Rwanda's risk management policy.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the organization's internal control processes to ensure they are operating effectively.
  • Provide regular reports to the Director of Finance and Administration on audit findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Administration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in accounting or auditing (e.g. CPA, CMA, CIA).
  • At least 3 years of experience in internal auditing or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with World Vision Rwanda's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel within Rwanda as needed.
